Continuing with the celebration of CSF’s 25th Anniversary, on May 10, 2014 several board members met with Mr. Miljenko ”Mike” Grgich at the beautiful Grgich Hills Winery to present him with a plaque of recognition and to personally express deep gratitude and appreciation for his support of CSF. Mr. Grgich, along with his daughter Violeta, has sponsored one or more students over the last 25 years. Miljenko and his nephew Ivo Jeramaz, Vice President of Vineyards and production, were wonderful hosts and treated the board with the traditional Croatian hospitality of prosciutto, cheese and of course the famous Grgich wine. Everyone had a wonderful time and Mr. Grgich was visibly touched when the plaque was presented to him.

Mr. Grgich was also recognized for establishing an endowment fund with CSF for the specific purpose of providing scholarships to students in a Master’s Degree Program at the University of Zagreb majoring in Viticulture and Enology. Mr. Grgich’s goal in establishing this scholarship is to help educate the future winegrowers and winemakers in Croatia so that they may develop a world-class wine industry there.
