CSF 2006-07 Scholarship Recipiants

	Name: Petar Sime Major: Computer Science City of Birth: Sponsors: Mr. Herman Drazick Petar lives with his parents and two younger siblings in a small apartment in Zagreb. His father is an invalid and his mother is unemployed. Petar participated in various competitions and was selected as one of the best students in his class. His interest are math, physics, biology and chemistry and he loves to play tennis, basketball and soccer.
	Name: Ivana Jelas Major: Economics City of Birth: Kiseljak BH Sponsor: Ivona had a very difficult and devastated childhood. Being only a small child when the war started, she was relocated from Sarajevo to Kiseljak where she attended Kindergarten, Her father was killed in 1993 and a few weeks after that, she with her immediate family was seriously wounded by the shell shrapnel. Even with all this tragedy, Ivona strived to achieve the best grades in elementary and high-schools and has great desire to earn a college degree.
	Name: Damir Jerkovic Major: Law City of Birth: Uskoplja Sponsor: Damir has a great resume for a young man. During the war he with his mother emigrated to Germany where they stayed for five years. He attended first three years of grades school in Germany where he had to learn the new language. After returning back from Germany, he continued with his schooling and became very involved with various youth groups and workshops.
	Name: Svjetlana Rasic Major: Library Science City of Birth: Vitine Sponsor: Mr. JoeVasilj Svjetlana lives with her parents, two siblings and a grandmother. Her father is the only one who is working and supports the family. Svjetlana speaks and writes English and Italian fluently and would like to pursue a degree in languages. In her spare time, she teaches local children English.
	Name: Ana Zovko Major: Medicine City of Birth: Mostar BH Sponsor: Mr. Joe Vasilj Ana has three siblings and two of them are enrolled in college. Both parents are unemployed at the moment. Ana is a member of an artistic society "Hercegovac" where they maintain the old traditions and cultures. She speaks German, Italian and English fluently.
	Name: Ivan Konta Major: Computer Science City of Birth: Livno BH Sponsor: Mr. Jure Sola Ivan lives with his parents and a younger brother. He has been playing soccer most of his life and trained professionally for hree years in high-school. He loves computers and attended special workshops to learn more about them. He participated in a national competition in math and attained a fifth place.
	Name: Igor Baric Major: Computer Science City of Birth: Jajce BH Sponsor: Igor has been an excellent student throughout all of his school years. Even with his move from one place to another, he maintained his excellent grades. He is interested in computer science and loves to play soccer and basketball.
	Name: Marin Martic Major: Economics City of Birth: Posusje Sponsors: Louise Bubalo Marin is a very positive and industrial young man. He loves math, physics and languages and has participated in numerous competitions. He is a member of Red Cross where they promote awareness of minefields. Also in his spare time he tutors others on various subjects and teaches younger kids different languages.
	Name: Andrija Sipek Major: Natural Sciences City of Birth: Koprivnica Sponsor: Mr. John Radilovich Andrija comes from a large family, which includes six siblings and parents. His family lives on a farm as both parents are unemployed and work very hard to support their family. Andrija has great interest in Computer Science and competed numerous times in Math, Physics, Chemistry and Croatian language.
	Name: Kristina Glumac Major: Economics City of Birth: Vukovar Sponsor: Mr. Zeljko Urban Kristina was born in Vukovar and still lives there with her family. She is an excellent student and received high grades throughout her schooling. In her spare time, she helps third and fourth graders with math and different languages. She is a member of the youth group called "Forum" where she was a Vice president for a year.
	Name: Martina Kudeljnak Major: Dentistry City of Birth: Durdevce Sponsor: Mr. John Vidovich Martina is a trooper and a survivor. She lives with her father and a younger sister in a small town of "Semovci". Four years ago, Martina lost her mother which was devastating to her and to the whole family. In addition to her school responsibilities, she has to do house chores and take care of her younger sister. She continues to strive and be very active by joining choir and play volleyball.
	Name: Sladjana Trac Major: Mathematics City of Birth: Otocac Sponsor: Sladana lives with her mother and grandmother in a one-bedroom apartment in a small village, called Otocac. Her desire is to get a Master Degree in computers and math because those are the skills that will be very beneficial in getting a job and becoming employed. She loves to work with computers and solving problems.
	Name: Martina Sibalic Major: Philosophy City of Birth: Glina Sponsor: Croatian Radio New York Martina was born in Glina and moved around a lot during the war. Not being wanted in any of the places they moved to, she and her mother went to Austrija to live with their relatives for a short time. When it was safe to return, they moved back to Glina where she attended elementary school and high-school. Martina lives with her mother who is unemployed and they depend on social support.
	Name: Mislav Cvitkovic Major: Natural Science City of Birth: Sinj Sponsor: Mrs. Rosemary Christen Mislav has three brothers and two of them are attending colleges. His strengths are languages, especially Greek and Latin, and has competed on a state level where he received excellent results. In the European competition of Greek language and culture, he received sixth place and was invited to Greece to represent Croatia where he received an award from the President of Greece.
	Name: Jurica Kundrata Major: Electrical Engineering City of Birth: Sisak Sponsor: Mrs. Mary Lee Musich Jurica is highly motivated and high working. He has been participating in various competitions, such as physics and computer science and received first to fourth place. Last year he worked on a team research project which was presented on two television shows called, "Brilliantine" and "Heureka'. This year he was invited to attend an International conference "Nikola Tesla- scientist beyond time".
	Name: Danijel Vranesic Major: Computer Science City of Birth: Genralski Stol Sponsor: Mr. John Vidovich Danijel is a very ambitious young man. He participated in many local and state level competitions in history, physics and basic in computer science and has received excellent results. He attained first to third place in most of the competitions. In his fifth grade, he joined a "Volunteer Firemen" group in his city and in 2005 passed a course for a "first class" fireman.
	Name: Ivana Radocaj Major: Economics City of Birth: Sponsor: Mr. Herman Drazick Ivana is a very young and determined student. In addition to passing all four years of high-school with excellent grades, she took on various projects. She was a co-editor for a school paper called "Students' thoughts" and was involved with the "Young for the young" where they worked on a NON smoking awareness.
