CSF 2005-06 Scholarship Recipiants

	Name: Vjeran Filipovic Major: Management City of Birth: Sarajevo, BH Sponsors: Mr. Gordon Black Vjeran was born in Sarajevo and currently lives in Vares with his parents and two brothers. During the war time, he immigrated to Germany for three years where he attended a grade school and learned how to speak and write German. He is a member of various youth groups and coordinated 'English Language Summer School' program with primary school in Vares that was sponsored by the University of Denver.
	Name: Josip Kocur Major: Medicine City of Birth: Sponsor: Miss Tatijana Grgich Josip lives with his mother and maternal grandparents in a small village near Osijek. He has successfully competed in regional Math and History competitions during his elementary and high school years. In addition to his studies, he is very active with youth organizations through his church and is a member of 'tamburica' group, "Braca Banas'.
	Name: Mihaela Homjak Major: Philosophy City of Birth: Pula Sponsor: Mihaela was born in Pula and has an older brother. She comes from a divorced family and after her mother passed away, her older brother became her guardian. Even with her traumatic family situation, she persevered and involved herself totally in her studies and positive extra curricular activities. She would like to study architecture.
	Name: Ana Marija Flegar Major: Natural Science City of Birth: Pazin Sponsor: Miss Tatijana Grgich Ana Marija was born in Pazin. She lives with her parents and a younger sister in a one-bedroom apartment. She has competed in numerous (over 50) Math and Physics competitions during her elementary and high school years and achieved many awards and praises. Her desire was to become a swimmer but since that sport is too expensive to pursue, she trained and played basketball for eight years.
	Name: Mislav Gogic Major: Law City of Birth: Split Sponsor: Croatian American Cultural Center, Sacramento Mislav was born in Split. He lives with his parents and two siblings. His hobbies are tennis, singing, composing and playing piano. He is a member of a church choir 'Gospe od Zdravlja' and they have performed all over Croatia. His desire is to be a lawyer as is his mother, who unfortunately is unemployed.
	Name: Ana Tecic Major: Medicine City of Birth: Travnik, BH Sponsor: Mr. & Mrs. Sertic Ana was born in Travnik but lived in Uskoplje, B&H. During the war her parents sent her to live in Zagreb with Ana's grandparents where she attended the first year of school. Afterwards she moved back to Uskoplje and then again to Zagreb to complete high school. She has been actively involved with the 'Seeds of Peace' organization and participated in numerous summer camps where youths from various countries gather and discuss conflict resolutions.
	Name: Marijana Babic Major: Economics City of Birth: Split Sponsor: George Kumparak Memorial Marijana was born in Split. She has three younger siblings who are attending high school and elementary school. She loves to speak other languages and is fluent in English and German. She participated in various competitions on a regional and state level and has achieved positive results.
	Name: Dalibor Funtak Major: Medicine City of Birth: Varazdin Sponsors: Mr. Robert Batinovic Dalibor was born in Varazdin but lived in a small village called Ljubescici. He has a younger brother who is currently attending high school and is also interested in Maritime Engineering. Their mother is the only person employed in the family.
	Name: Marijana Milkovic Major: Law City of Birth: Sponsor: Mr. Robert Batinovic Because of her love for Croatian language and literature, Ksenija's goal is to use her degree in linguistics to promote the wider exposure of Croatian culture and traditions in her country.
	Name: Kristijan Raic Major: Marine Engineering City of Birth: Stolac BH Sponsor: Mary Ann and Zeljko Pavic Kristijan was born in Stolac, B&H and still lives there with his family and four other siblings. Math, Physics and computers are his favorite subjects in which he successfully participated in many state competitions. He loves music and sings at the church choir and plays 'tamburica'.
