Graduates

Luka comes from a large family with five younger brothers and sisters. He is an excellent student with interest in languages and computers. He speaks and writes in English and German.

Igor has been an excellent student throughout all of his school years. Even with his move from one place to another, he maintained his excellent grades. He is interested in computer science and loves to play soccer and basketball.

Petar was born in Posusje and lived there his whole life. There are four siblings in his family and with both parents unemployed; he has been working part time to help his family. His father is a war veteran and cannot work. Petar's dream is to become a computer scientist.

Kornela was a war refugee and had to move to Imotski when her home in Sarajevo was destroyed. She comes from a family of five, and with both of her parents unemployed, her further education was uncertain. She completed her last two years of high school in Dubrovnik and wanted to continue her education in the field of journalism. She speaks English and French and loves to read.

Boris completed an Electrical Engineering degree with a focus on computers. He loves computer programming and information science and always wanted to continue his education even though the future looked very bleak for a refugee in a new city with no income other than "humanitarian assistance." The help offered by CSF was very much appreciated by his family.

Like his twin brother, Boris, Marin has completed an Electrical Engineering degree specializing in computers. He loves working with computers and is an excellent student. During the war his family had to move and settled in Mostar with relatives. His father was captured and became a prisoner of war which was very devastating to his family.

Andjelko was born in Derventa where he lived until 1991. His father died when Andjelko was only seven years old. After his mother passed away in 1991, he moved to Slavonski Brod to live with his sister and her husband. He has been a great student with a 3.5 grade average.

Ivana has attained excellence in both education and sports. Of her future plans, she says, "with my work and knowledge, I will be able to contribute to development of humanity."

Tatjana decided to study medicine in order to help her countrymen.  She witnessed the importance of medical doctors in the war and the way in which they directly affected her family and neighbors.

Vilko lost his father when he was only 10 years old. His mother was left to take care of four children on her own. During the war their house was destroyed and they were forced to find another place to live. Vilko’s love is computers and he successfully completed an Electrical Engineering degree with emphasis on computers.

Mirela's desire is to use her education in economics for a career in management and foreign trade.  Her hobbies are reading (especially Hesse and Camus), dancing, watching movies, and collecting stamps and postcards.

Because of her love for Croatian language and literature, Ksenija's goal is to use her degree in linguistics to promote the wider exposure of Croatian culture and traditions in her country.

Mislav has three brothers, two of which are attending college. His strengths are languages, especially Greek and Latin. He has competed successfully at the national level, where he received excellent results. In the European competition of Greek language and culture, Mislav received sixth place. For his accomplishments he was invited to Greece to represent Croatia, where he received an award from the President of Greece.

Melita loves the Croatian language and has often recited poetry in school and on radio programs. Her dream is to become a professor of the Croatian language and teach young students in Split. During her last year of college, she got married to a student who is completing a degree in Medicine. She is the youngest of four daughters in her family.

Mladen’s strengths are math and physics. He has participated in various competitions on numerous occasions and received very high ranking. He loves to play basketball, tennis and billiards in his spare time. He was an excellent student with a 4.0 average.

Vlatko was forced to leave his parents in Sarajevo and complete his high school education in the town of Posusje. He has achieved his dream of completing a degree in Medicine, and he hopes this will be beneficial to his community in the future.
